The Sturtevant Whirlwind Mobile Air Classifier is sturdy, compact and maneuverable on roadways and jobs sites AND takes LESS THAN ONE HOUR FROM PARKING TO START CLASSIFYING.
Check out the FAQ’s below to learn more about the only self-contained, 100% mobile air classifying plant with integral collapsible conveyors.
Why is a mobile classifier any better than a stationary model?
Many aggregate and sand producers own multiple quarries, so rather than buying one per site, producers can move the Mobile Air Classifier to each site as it’s needed.
And for paving projects, it’s more economical to move the classifier closer to a quarry which is nearer the actual job site, or to the job site itself, rather than haul the de-dusted manufactured sand.
Do I need a crane to move the conveyors into place?
No, the Whirlwind Air Classifier has integral conveyors that hydraulically fold for transport and un-fold for set-up. The air classifier also has heavy duty dual hydraulic cylinders that raise and lower the air classifier to make set-up and tear down easy and safe.
Because it’s mobile, does that affect my feed capacity?
The Whirlwind Mobile Air Classifier feed capacity is still an ample 30 to 90 tons per hour with a 50hp motor for low energy consumption and variable frequency controller for easy adjustments.
Is it difficult to transport?
Not at all. The Mobile Air Classifier is mounted on a rugged chassis frame with triaxle suspension for stable travel on highways or backroads. The plant is designed for vibration-free operation and long-life service with low maintenance. The compact design features a low transport height (13 ft. 5 in.), short trailer transport length (61 ft. 9 in.) AND trim transport width (12 ft. 7 in.). So you can maneuver easily on the road and at the job site.
